Cinnamon Rolls with Honey & Orange

If you love traditional flavors but want to enjoy them with a more modern twist, this recipe is for you! Crispy phyllo rolls filled with walnuts and cinnamon, drizzled with pure honey and flavored with orange and chocolate. A dessert reminiscent of baklava, but lighter and more playful.
Preparation
01. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
02. Mix the walnuts, sugar, cinnamon, and the rest of the aromatic ingredients (if using).
03. Take two sheets of phyllo dough, brush them with melted butter, and sprinkle some filling at the edge. Roll into a log and place it on the tray. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
04. Brush the rolls with the remaining butter and bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
05. Drizzle with honey while still warm so they absorb it and get a glossy finish.
Tip
The orange adds freshness, while the chocolate makes the result more playful – perfect for kids and guests!

Ingredients
(for about 24 small rolls)
- 12 sheets of phyllo dough
- 1 cup toasted, chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1½ teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/3 cup honey
Optional, for a twist:
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips
- A pinch of cloves
